Nitrocharger Shock Absorbers

Nitrocharger 4×4 shock absorbers were specifically designed with Australia’s unique driving conditions in mind, where vehicles are often heavily loaded, fitted with accessories and driven on harsh, Outback roads for prolonged periods.

Old Man Emu engineers specialise in nothing else but 4WD suspension systems, and it’s this experience in setting the most appropriate valving that really differentiates the Nitrocharger from its competitors. In many cases, several shock absorber applications will be listed for one vehicle to ensure the proper match regardless of spring selection, accessory fitment or load carrying requirements. And while OME Nitrochargers will improve overall performance when fitted with standard springs, more substantial benefits can be achieved with fitted in conjunction with Old Man Emu springs, for a complete, integrated 4WD suspension system.

OLD MAN EMU LEAF SPRING

Part of ARB’s integrated 4×4 suspension systems, Emu Dakar leaf springs are engineered to provide optimum ride performance irrespective of the operating conditions the vehicle’s suspension is required to work under.

Numerous spring options are available to suit a multitude of applications, allowing you to set your vehicle up for recreational or commercial purposes. Feature packed, a set of Emu Dakar leaf springs matched to a set of Old Man Emu 4×4 shock absorbers will deliver vastly improved ride, handling and load carrying capability.

Draw tapered and diamond cut leaves: Ensure the load is progressively distributed over a larger surface area, reducing the high stresses that develop at leaf ends. This provides increased ride quality and protection against leaf breakage, significantly increasing the spring life.
Bolt clamps and liners: The leaf clamps are bolted to allow installation of anti squeak nylon liners.
Fully scragged and load tested: Scragging ensures the spring takes a permanent ‘set’ which reduces the risk of sagging. Load testing ensures the spring meets the required specification.
Military wrap: Designed to provide added safety.
Anti friction pads: Regreasable nylon interleaf liners reduce friction at the leaf tips where the load is the greatest.
Flat axle seat area: Allows a positive, safe axle mount reducing spring stress and increasing spring life.
Shot peening: The tension side of all leaves is shot peened to reduce spring stress. This process can double the life of a spring.
Two-stage leaf pack: Featured on most rear springs for optimum comfort. When unladen the vehicle is largely riding on the primary stage, with the secondary stage providing additional support when a heavy load is added.

* EXTRA WEIGHT FRONT AXLE & EXTRA WEIGHT REAR AXLE:

Old Man Emu has several crossbow options for your vehicle, remember that you can select the crossbows you need in the deplegable that appears at the top.
Depending on the extra equipment of your vehicle, you should select the right crossbows, remembering that it is not advisable to put a crossbow with a higher load capacity than the equipment of your vehicle.

FRONT:

* Why choose from 0 to 50kg, For example:
If your vehicle is standard or equipped with a winch (normally weigh 40 kg) we should select crossbow with extra weight up to 50 kg.

* Why choose from 51kg to 100kg, For example:
If your vehicle has a winch + winch bar (Winch 40Kg + winch bar 50Kg: 90Kg)

* Why choose from 101Kg to 150Kg, For example:
If your vehicle has a winch + extra reinforced bumpers + extra load. These springs would only be suitable for special vehicles.

REAR:

Why choose from 0 to 50kg, For example:
If your vehicle has nothing extra cargo in the trunk, or if you carry a refrigerator in the trunk. We should select crossbows with an extra weight of up to 50 kg.

Because choose from 51kg to 100kg, For example:
If your vehicle has drawers in the rear would be recommended to put these left springs, it would also be advisable if you always carry 5 passengers or if you occasionally carry a trailer.

Because choose from 101Kg to 150Kg, For example:
If your vehicle has a constant load or if you have auxiliary diesel deposits of 110 extra liters or constant loads.

Because choose from 200Kg or higher, For example:
If your vehicle carries constant loads it would be advisable to select the weight that you need to endure the crossbows, these crossbows are special and we recommend only for vehicles that have housing or special vehicle equipment.
